ST. LOUIS — Prosecutors charged a second man Wednesday with murder in the death of teen hockey player Colin Brown, who was fatally shot while riding with his father on Interstate 55.
Donovan M. Baucom, 28, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, three counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
Police said Baucom was driving the Audi from which the deadly shots were fired on Nov. 23.
Another suspect, Garrett Jordan, was charged last week in the shooting.
Baucom lives in the 4200 block of Smithfield Place in Bel-Ridge. He is being held without bond.

Charging documents said Jordan left his home on Minnesota Avenue in an Audi the night of Nov. 23 and followed a car onto I-55. The car being followed had also been at the Minnesota home, and its driver told police he was shot at in the same area and time as was Colin, authorities said.
Colin and his father were headed north, on the way home to O’Fallon, Illinois, from a hockey game in Affton. He was hit by a stray bullet. Colin died days later at a hospital.
Colin, 16, was a Christian Brothers College High School student and standout hockey player.
Police said Jordan’s phone and area video identified him in the Audi “before, during and after the shooting on I-55,” according to charging documents. And data from Baucom’s phone showed him with Jordan throughout the day leading up to the shooting, authorities said.
Baucom admitted driving the Audi during the shooting but insisted that Jordan, using a rifle, was the gunman, according to St. Louis police Detective Joseph Corson.
According to court papers, police found the Audi at a residence owned by Baucom’s sister. She told officers she had given Baucom permission to drive the car on the day of the murder, and she noticed it had been returned shortly after, police said. She told officers that Jordan was her cousin.
Police have said it appeared that multiple shooters fired at the car Jordan was following. Evidence seized on I-55 included more than 20 cartridge casings that were matched to a handgun and a rifle.
Police spokesman Mitch McCoy said Wednesday that the investigation “is still very ongoing” and authorities continue to encourage anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477.
McCoy said city police have worked with St. Louis County police, the Illinois State Police, the FBI and other agencies on the case. Numerous surveillance videos have been used in the probe, including from nearby residents’ doorbell cameras.
Colin’s death spurred substantial public heartbreak and outrage, and hundreds attended his funeral on Dec. 6.
On Monday, Jordan, a street rapper, pleaded not guilty in the case, a common occurrence for first court appearances. Jordan, who is also known by his rap name YelloTapee, had been released from federal prison just weeks before the shooting, court records say. He had been sentenced to eight months after violating probation on drug and weapons charges, according to court records.
Jordan’s music videos feature drugs, guns and money. A music video he performed in with St. Louis rap group 3Problems has garnered almost 30,000 views.
