Antagonist Cafe is the counterpart to Soulard’s Protagonist Cafe. Located in a former police station, the new coffee shop celebrated its grand opening this month.
Beauty Supply Refresh, 456 Howdershell Road, Florissant, MO 63031
Beauty Supply Fresh has expanded and moved into a new location this winter. The family-owned and operated business sells shampoos, conditioners, styling tools and more.
Box Hill Grocer, 7628 Wydown Boulevard, Clayton, MO 63105
Located next to Wright’s Tavern, Box Hill Grocer sells hot and cold items for pick-up, in addition to curated pantry items.

Le Vélo Inn, 1425 North 2nd Street, St. Charles, MO 63301
Le Vélo Inn is a boutique hotel just one block from St. Charles’ historic main street. The inn has multiple one-bed room suits, a studio, cottages and a private courtyard.
Navy Federal Credit Union, 1811 Maplewood Commons Drive Suite 103, Maplewood, MO 63143
According to the bank, this new branch means that Navy Federal members will no longer need to travel 20 miles to receive in-person services.
Steve’s Hot Dogs, 17081 North Outer 40 Road, Chesterfield, MO 63005
The District’s latest tenant is renowned local hot dog chain Steve’s Hot Dog. The joint is known for its menu item collaborations and elevated takes on comfort food like specialty hot dogs, sausages and smash burgers.
Closings
Cheap TRX, 3209 South Grand Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63118
After three decades, this small business gift shop announced that it has plans to close at the end of the month. It’s neighbor, TRX Tattoos and Piercing, will continue to operate.
Earthbound Beer, 2724 Cherokee Street, St. Louis, MO 63118
After opening in 2014, the final day of service for Earthbound Beer was Dec. 8.
Fortune Teller Bar, 2635 Cherokee Street, St. Louis, MO 63118
After 12 years of business, Fortune Teller Bar plans to close after service on Dec. 31, as indicated by an announcement in November. As a result, Fourth City Barbecue is also closing at that location.
Nate’s Kosher Deli, 10405 Old Olive Street Road, Creve Coeur, MO 63141
Nate’s closed this month as it looks to move to a more permanent space. Nate’s was in the old Kohn’s Kosher Meat and Deli Restaurant shop.
Palladium Saint Louis, 1400 Park Place, St. Louis, MO 63104
Due to new ownership, this venue will shut down for business at the end of the year, according to an October announcement from Butler’s Pantry, its former operator, catering and event planning company.
Pete’s Shur Sav, 7434 Olive Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63130
After over 60 years in business, Pete’s closed as a result of rising food costs and inflation.
Smallcakes: A Cupcakery, 343 S Kirkwood Road #108, Kirkwood, MO 63122
The specialty bakery closed in early December after a decade of operation.
Tale to Table, 7310 MO-100, Maplewood, MO 63143
Tale to Table sold local and global specialty foods, kitchen tools and cookbooks in addition to offering cooking classes.
Windows on Washington, 1601 Washington Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63103
This historic event space and catering business closes with the end of the year as owner Thomas Klein retires. The building was listed at $4.9 million for 64,783 square feet across five floors.
