Temperature climbed all the way to 70 degrees on Monday, as some of the season's first skaters took to the ice in Forest Park.
What they found was a bit slushy.
Morning rain, warm weather and a downed Zamboni machine all combined to make for some wet ice a few days after the rink opened for the season over the weekend.
"We're open," said Alex Ford, a rink manager. "It's just gonna be a little wet."
That could change beginning Thursday, when the forecast calls for lows closer to freezing for the tail end of the week.
