All-Metro hockey first team

Blake Feinstein, Clayton
Blake Feinstein, senior, Clayton
Followed a stellar junior campaign in which he earned All-Metro honors by leading the Greyhounds to a 19-4-2 record and their first Wickenheiser Cup title. The 5-foot-7 forward scored 20 goals with 14 assists in 15 regular season games. He found another gear in the postseason, scoring 10 goals with two assists in six games with three hat tricks.

Matthew Jost, CBC
Matthew Jost, senior, CBC
The 6-foot-1 forward had a knack for scoring in the clutch, leading all of Mid States with seven game-winning goals. He led a high-powered attack for a Cadets team that went 18-2-4, scoring 17 goals and recording 12 assists. A model of consistency, Jost scored at least one point in all 17 games he played.

Nicholas Zitzmann, Ladue
Nicholas Zitzmann, senior, Ladue
Zitzmann was instant offense for a Rams team that posted a 22-3-2 record and advanced to the Wickenheiser Cup championship game. A 5-foot-11 forward, he scored 16 goals and had 25 assists in 19 regular-season games. He continued his two points a game pace in the playoffs with four goals and nine assists in six games.

Grant Fowlkes, De Smet
Grant Fowlkes, senior, De Smet
Leader of a deep and stout defense that allowed a miniscule 1.15 goals a game and powered the Spartans to a 21-1-5 record and their second consecutive Challenge Cup championship. Fowlkes, a 6-foot-1 defenseman, scored three goals with nine assists in 15 regular season games. He had a strong postseason with one goal and four assists in seven games.

Trent Lewis, Marquette
Trent Lewis, senior, Marquette
The quintessential offensive defensemen, Lewis balanced being responsible in his own zone and knowing when to jump into the offense to create chances. Lewis, who stands 6-foot-2, led a Mustangs defense that allowed just 1.26 goals per game. He also had eight goals and 12 assists in 25 games for the Challenge Cup runner-up squadron.

Cooper Freeman, Marquette
Cooper Freeman, freshman, Marquette
Freeman showed his toughness and commitment by taking the ice for the Mustangs’ playoff opener just days after being released from the hospital with tonsillitis. The 5-foot-10 goaltender took his game to another level in leading Marquette to a Challenge Cup runner-up finish. Freeman went 4-1-1 in six playoff games with a 1.17 goals against and two shutouts.
All-Metro hockey second team
Carter Clemons, senior, CBC
Clemons was the main playmaker for a Cadets offense that averaged 4.29 goals per game. A 5-foot-10 forward, he scored eight goals with a team-high 16 assists in 13 games.
Cade Eckert, senior, Marquette
Eckert was the vocal leader of a Mustangs team that went 17-4-6 and advanced to its third Challenge Cup championship game appearance. The 6-foot-3 forward scored 16 goals and had 16 assists in 24 games.
Logan Petlansky, senior, SLUH
The 6-foot forward was the leading scorer for a team that went 17-7-2. Petlansky followed a strong regular season (10 goals, nine assists in 16 games) with a stellar postseason (four goals, six assists in six games).
Miles Acree, junior, Ladue
The 6-foot defenseman could dominate a game both offensively and from the blue line as the Rams allowed just 2.19 goals per game. He transitioned seamlessly into the offensive attack with nine goals and 27 assists in 18 games.
Marco Boccardi, junior, Vianney
Boccardi showed his versatility by playing up front this season while going back to his traditional defensive role when team was shorthanded and on special teams. The 5-foot-6 Boccardi scored 13 goals and had 10 assists, including six goals and one assist in the playoffs.
Branden Turpin, freshman, Clayton
The 5-foot-9 goaltender played with poise of a seasoned upperclassman during the Greyhounds’ Wickenheiser Cup title run. He went 10-0-1 with a .955 save percentage and five shutouts, including a 4-0-1 mark with a 1.40 goals against average in the playoffs.
All-Metro hockey third team
Ameer Hajji, senior, MICDS
An elite scorer, the 5-foot-11 forward had a part in 43 of the Rams’ 90 goals scored this season. Hajji finished with 28 goals and 15 assists in 19 games.
Cole Heffington, junior, De Smet
The 5-foot-11 forward was the leading scorer of a balanced Spartans offense. He scored 11 goals and had 13 assists in 21 games, including three goals and three assists in the playoffs.
Jack Kohlmann, senior, Fox
A four-year varsity standout for the Warriors, the 6-foot-2 forward was the Mid States scoring leader this season. Kohlmann scored 38 goals and had 19 assists in 18 games.
Jamison Gifford, senior, Parkway South
The 6-foot-2 blue liner helped lead the Patriots to the Challenge Cup playoffs. An offensive defenseman, Gifford scored 12 goals and had 11 assists in 18 games.
George Lyons, junior, SLUH
Part of a deep defensive core, the 5-foot-10 blue liner scored six goals and had seven assists in 16 games. Lyons helped power a defense that allowed just 1.85 goals a game.
Chase Vogelgesang, sophomore, Vianney
This 6-foot netminder was a wall for a team that advanced to the Challenge Cup semifinals. Vogelgesang went 3-1-2 with a 1.50 goals against average and a .936 save percentage in the playoffs.
