All-Metro girls tennis first team
Angela Chen, sophomore, Ladue
Chen was the No. 1 singles player on the Class 2 team champion Rams. She finished second in singles in the Class 2 individual tournament. She won her first three matches at state without losing a game and lost a tight three-setter to Rachel Li of MICDS in the championship match. Chen won the state singles title as a freshman.
Flo Eidson, senior, Visitation
Eidson was the No. 1 singles player on the Vivettes. She lost only one match in the regular season. Eidson had a tough state draw, losing to Sydney Fuger of North Kansas City in the first round. Fuger would finish second while Eidson won her four matches in consolation to finish fifth in Class 3. Eidson will play tennis at Providence College.

Rachel Li, senior, MICDS
Li capped a tremendous high school career by winning the Class 2 singles championship. It was her first state title. Li did not lose a game in her first three matches at the state tournament. Then she had to play defending state singles champion Angela Chen of Ladue in the final and defeated her 6-1, 4-6, 10-7. Li will play tennis at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh.
Sahana Madala, senior, John Burroughs
Madala played on team champions as a freshman and senior, playing No. 1 singles this year. She finished second at state twice, in doubles with Ainsley Heidbreder as a freshman and in singles last year. She won the consolation singles title in 2021 and was third this year, suffering her only loss of the season to Amber Yin of Lafayette in the finals. Madala will play tennis at Johns Hopkins.
Yvonne Shannon, senior, Parkway North
Shannon won the Class 2 doubles championship with Emily Koo, becoming the first girls tennis state champions in school history. Shannon was named Suburban Conference Green Pool player of the year as she finished with a 12-2 record in singles and 27-3 in doubles. Shannon, who finished fourth in singles in 2022, has committed to play at Missouri Baptist University.
Yin, a highly decorated junior player, made her lone season of playing high school tennis a historic one as is the All-Metro player of the year. Not only did Yin finish the season as the individual Class 3 singles champion, but she did so by not losing a set. Yin also helped the Lancers' team to a third place finish in Class 3. She will play for Columbia University.
All-Metro girls tennis second team
Ashley Behan, junior, St. Joseph's
Teamed with Ali Kennedy to win the Class 3 doubles championship. Behan played No. 2 singles for the Angels.
Kayla Chan, sophomore, Ladue
Played No. 2 singles on the Class 2 team champion Rams. Teamed with Megan Ouyang to win a state doubles title last season.
Ali Kennedy, junior, St. Joseph's
Paired with Ashley Behan to win the Class 3 doubles championship. Kennedy played No. 1 singles with the Angels.
Aanya Singh, senior, Clayton
Played No. 1 singles for the Class 1 team champion Greyhounds. Finished second in singles after winning the singles state crown last year.
Allie Wayne, sophomore, John Burroughs
Wayne played No. 2 singles on the Class 3 team champion Bombers. Teamed with Eva Kasal to finish second in the Class 3 doubles championship.
Katie Woods, sophomore, Edwardsville
Woods was the Southwestern Conference player of the year, going undefeated against local competition. She won the Class 2 sectional tournament.
All-Metro girls tennis third team
Lanie Davis, senior, Cor Jesu
The No. 1 singles player on the Chargers finished sixth in Class 3 singles at state.
Emmie Kinder, sophomore, Ursuline
Followed a second-place state finish as a freshman with a third-place finish in Class 1 singles this year.
Eva Kasal, senior, John Burroughs
Played No. 3 singles on the Class 3 team champions. Teamed with Allie Wayne to finish as state doubles runner-up.
Grace Qian, senior, Ladue
Lone senior for the Class 2 team champion Rams. Finished third in doubles last year with Jenna Song.
Stefanie Wong, senior, Mehlville
The No. 1 player for the Panthers finished third in the Class 3 singles state tournament.
Mia Yin, sophomore, Lafayette
Helped Lancers to third-place team finish in Class 3. Placed fifth in state doubles with Mary Sublette.
Lafayette senior Amber Yin is the Post-Dispatch All-Metro girls tennis player of the year.
