ST. LOUIS — The reward for information about the death of a teen hockey player increased by $15,000 this week with the help of family, friends and anonymous donors, local nonprofit CrimeStoppers announced Monday.
Colin Brown, a Christian Brothers College High School junior, was killed last month when he was struck by a stray bullet on Interstate 55 while riding home with his father from a hockey game, police said.
Investigators requested security camera footage from homes near I-55 on Loughborough Avenue, near the location where Colin was shot, and have been working feverishly to follow leads, police spokesman Mitch McCoy said last week.
But police still do not know who fired the gun, according to a news release from local nonprofit CrimeStoppers, which fields tips about violent crime in the region and offers rewards.

The organization initially offered $10,000 for information that led to a prosecution.
On Monday, police said friends, family and private donors had bumped the amount to $25,000.
“No piece of information is too small,” the release says.
A visitation for Colin will be held from 4-9 p.m. Thursday at CBC High, 1850 De La Salle Drive.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Friday at the Cathedral Basilica, 4431 Lindell Boulevard.
