Meet our pets of the week: A Siamese cat, a Lab mix and a horse

Zuri is a 7-year-old Siamese cat who first came to HSMO’s Maryland Heights shelter in December as a stray. Zuri would love a lap to curl up in for the new year and can’t wait to meet his new forever family.

Draco is a 2-year-old Labrador retriever mix who came to the Humane Society of Missouri’s Macklind Avenue headquarters in October as a stray. Draco has a great smile and a sweet personality to go with it. He would love to kick off the new year by going on walks with his new forever family.

Cortana is a 17-year-old quarter horse Arabian cross who came to Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in July. When she arrived, she was skittish and uneasy with human interaction. It took some time for her to settle in. Upon evaluation, trainers found that Cortana responded to bridle pressure. She backed up nicely and was fairly soft in the brindle. Upon evaluation under saddle, however, trainers found Cortana unsafe, so she would do best as a pasture pet.
